MPPC Takes God’s Love Downtown!

Downtown Menlo Park, that is, with the opening of Fair Trade Marketplace, a pop-up retail shop located at 846 Santa Cruz Ave., next to Traditions. For three weeks, the store will sell handcrafted, fair trade products from two of our MPPC ministry partners, Heavenly Treasures and Trade as One, both Fair Trade Federation members.

Every sale will benefit people in the developing world who are using their skills to work their way out of poverty, including those rescued from human trafficking. Globally, 2.7 billion people live on less than $2/day.

We’re excited about the potential of this experiment to:

  • Engage face-to-face with community members who might not come to church.
  • Give MPPC members an easy way to serve for small chunks of time.
  • Connect the buying power of area residents with ministry partners that provide hope and dignity for the poor.
  • Help make fair trade a part of our everyday lives.
  • Bless our community by generating foot traffic for all downtown merchants.

Get Involved

  • Release your inner retailer…volunteer as a sales associate or use your gifts in another way.
  • Tell your family, friends and neighbors to shop Fair Trade Marketplace.
  • Bring your Christmas shopping list and visit the store.

Thanks to everyone who signed up to volunteer at the store. Our sales associate shifts are pretty full now, but you can click on the link below to check for openings due to last-minute cancellations. We're also looking for people to help us tear down and pack up on December 29.
