Weekend Programs for Children in Menlo Park

Children's Ministry is a place where kids feel safe and loved. We have classes at 9:30 and 11 a.m. on Sundays for children ages 3 months through 5th grade. There is a nursery for children 3 months through 2 years old at 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

It is our desire to make the time your child is with us a warm and welcoming experience. Our classrooms have been designed and equipped with the particular needs and developmental abilities of children in mind. Each hour we offer a variety of free play experiences and activities for children of all ages. And with creative curriculum, children become actively involved through crafts, drama, music and storytelling in the older age groups.

Nursery: 3 months to 36 months old
To help families keep track of where their little ones belong we have created animal groups called Lambs, Otters, Puppies and Dolphins.

Preschool: 3 to 4 years old
Our preschool classes are specially planned for the unique needs and skills of children 3 and 4 years old, as well as those in Pre-Kindergarten. In Shepherd's Village these classes are called Pandas and Kangaroos

Elementary: Kindergarten through 5th grade
Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade not only learn favorite Bible stories, but are challenged to apply God's word to their everyday lives.

Bible Explorers: An Elective Class for 4th graders
A love and appreciation of God’s Word is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children! The Bible can be a difficult book for children to read and understand. This one-semester elective class for 4th graders, offered twice per year, is designed to help children begin to grasp, at their level of understanding, the importance of God’s Word in their lives.

Special Education
Our Special Education Program is a unique ministry to children with special needs. The goal is to enable each child to participate as fully as possible in a regular classroom. To make this possible, each special needs child is assigned a one-on-one helper, who has been trained to assist the child and make modifications in the weekly program as needed. The Special Education program is not limited to children with physical handicaps, but also includes children with behavioral or mental disabilities. It is a joy to watch these children, along with their classmates and leaders, grow both socially and educationally as they form new friendships and experience the love of Christ.
