Are you new to the area and looking for friends from different places? Does your birth family live a plane flight away and you'd like to find local spiritual brothers and sisters with whom you can celebrate holidays? MPPC's International Welcome and Outreach (MIWO) would love to welcome you! MIWO connects people through meals together, picnics, hikes, and occasional evenings of teaching.
We are more than a social group. Our events usually include prayer and spiritual input. Conversations on important spiritual topics such as parenting, dealing with grief, or how to find spiritual nourishment and connection at MPPC happen while we hike or picnic together.
We are not a small group. Small groups meet weekly or twice a month and consist of a 8-10 regular participants. Our events are less frequent and participation less regular, sometimes five, sometimes 30 or 80 attend our events.
We welcome everyone. One out of five working adults in California was born in another country. We are especially interested in serving and connecting to internationals living here who are past the college years, whether you are 25 and single, or parents with toddlers, or with kids leaving the nest. You don't need to be from another country to join our group. Interacting with people from various countries is fun and educational. We can learn more about God's children and His world by interacting with other cultures.
Serve Dinner and Enjoy a Time of Fellowship with CityTeam. Saturday, August 21at 3:00 pm: MIWO will help prepare dinner for the residents of CityTeam and serve dinner promptly at 4:45. Immediately after dinner, MIWO will enjoy a time of fellowship with the residents of CityTeam and their guests. CityTeam is a non-profit Christian-based organization serving the poor and homeless.
