Belle Haven Neighborhood, East Menlo Park

Spring 2010 Workdays (8:50 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
- Workday #7, April 17
- Workday #8, May 1
- Workday #9, May 15
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity and the City of Menlo Park, we have the opportunity to participate in transforming at least five foreclosed and abandoned properties in a single neighborhood. In an area hit hard by the housing crisis, we can help stabilize a neighborhood and make the dream of home ownership attainable for some qualified, working, low-income families. This program provides a hand-up (rather than a hand-out) by creating first time home ownership opportunities while transforming a neighborhood at risk of succumbing to blight.
This is a great serving opportunity for families and small groups. No construction experience is needed. Children must be at least 16 years of age.
NOTE: We will have a Habitat project for Compassion Weekend, April 24-25. Please register for that project here at the end of March.
